This mountain peak and its associated ones are known after famous poetess and queen Habba Khatun.

Born in 1554 in a peasant family was known for her intellect and beauty. Her first marriage was not comfortable. She was noticed by the then Chak Dynasty Prince Yousaf Chak, who made her queen in 1570.They had a blissful life for some years till Emperor Akbar invaded Kashmir in 1979.The king was banished to faraway Bihar. The Queen led a ascetic life caring her people thereafter. Her poems are soulful talking about the seperation and the pain of not belonging.
